I have always been a person who liked to soak into a hot bath. If you are not one of these person, do not walk away, my husband was definitely not the kind to indulge in bathing.
When we met he had a great bath tub but never filled it in. When moving together, I could not find the plug; it had been misplaced and was obviously not missed.
First thing I did was to order a new one; there was no way I could live in a house where I could not have a good long soak once in a while.
I am not a bath fanatic, but a couple of times during the week; I love to spoil myself with a hot bath. I could eventually convince my husband that he should splash about in a good bath I had just prepared and see if he would like it.
Well well well, to his surprise (but not to mine), he really enjoyed it and ever since regularly (OK not as often as myself), he runs a bath for himself. We all change and learn to appreciate new things by sharing our experiencing.
So as a bath lover, let me tell you something, salt bathing takes the experience to a whole new level.
Batch salts have got a fantastic effect on your well-being and on your skin. Full of Magnesium, Potassium and Calcium, the bath salts purify your body, loosen your mind, relax and ease of muscle pain.
It is my secret weapon to drain out of my body the stress I have accumulated during the day. I suddenly loose up and let go of all the niggling thoughts, stirring myself toward a more positive outlook on life.
What do you have to do?
Simply though 3-4 hand full of salt under the running tap of your bath. Soak and relax for a good 15/20mn. It is always recommended for the bathroom temperature to be around 72°F. and the water to be between 100-105°F. Close your eyes and stretch out your arms, legs, shoulders and neck, taking long deep breaths.
Which bath salts for what?
There can be a multitude of salt bath but my recommendation goes to only a few of them which have got very different therapeutic benefits. That way, depending of your day, you will be drawn immediately by one or another.
I prefer myself using only non-scented bath salt and had a few drops of your favourite essential oil (Lavender, Eucalyptus, Chamomile etc..) to generate different scents. This way, managing your stock of bath salt is a lot easier and indeed much more economical.
The Dead Sea salt:
Coming from the Dead Sea, it is recognized worldwide for it positive impact it has on your skin. This is the salt that contains the most minerals. Its virtues are extraordinary and innumerable. It soothes / calms the inflamed skins, heals, purifies, improves blood circulation, promotes rehydration of the skin, acts against acne, psoriasis and eczema...
Himalayan salt bath are the best way to rejuvenate and detox your body. It will help draw out toxins, deep cleanses your skin and re-energize you. You can use Himalayan salt on a daily basis, it has less magnesium and is perfect for regular use, detoxing and nourishing your skin. It will balance your energy flow and help you fight insomnia.
Epsom Salt :
Epsom salt is obtained from a chemical process on natural minerals. It consists mainly of magnesium sulfate. Used for thousands of years, it is appreciated for its soothing, relaxing and stimulating qualities. It relaxes the muscles, relieves joint pain and relaxes your muscle. Any sign of a back ache and I will run an Epsom bath, the relief is immediate for me. I use it as a natural anti-inflammatory, after exercising I will soak for 15 minute to avoid soar muscle the following day. The sulfate in Epsom salt helps you flushing out the toxins and heavy metals out of the body cells.
Epsom salt is perfect for use in a spray, or as added to your favorite natural oil for transdermal absorption of the minerals.
For ultimate magnesium soak, then soak in Magnesium Flakes. It has got similar virtues as the Epsom bath, but its magnesium level is better absorbed by your skin so it can naturally increase your level of magnesium in your body. Aso it is highly recommended for foot bath therapy.
It is also much more economical than Epsom Salt but cannot be used as a spray as it would stain your clothes. Magnesium deficiency is slowly becoming a more common occurrence, and the lack of magnesium also messes with your vitamin D and calcium absorption.
