Today I came across this fantastic illustration by Grant Snider for the latest Jon Acuff’s book and wanted to share it with you all.
The desire to be perfect burdens many people and ironically dooms them to unhappiness. We, human being, are no computer or electronic devices that are meant to make things perfectly (and even the machines mess us on a regular basis). So instead, we should ditch the idea of perfection and actually, embrace the imperfection of being human. It is what makes us different from everyone else. We were never born to be perfect. Instead let’s aim to be persistent, patient and flexible, we will soon find out that we are not stagnating as much, and reaching out more.
By seeking perfection, we become unsecure and we never start all the little projects we were so fund of.
I have to remind myself regularly a simple lesson: nothing is ever perfect.
Have no fear of perfection, you'll never reach it! Salvador Dali
Taking time to be thankful for everything that what we have is important, finding the time is not always the problem, but if like me you often find yourself with a blank mind in front of your gratitude journal, then I would recommend this simple tool: an A to Z gratitude log.
It will, simple, help you to focus on a letter of the alphabet and see how it relates to you with what happened in your day. I find it myself extremely stimulating and a fun exercise to do. It allow me to realize the little things in life that I would not have normally focussed on, which are in fact amazing little moments worth cherrishing and be thankful for.
And like me, you may like to stick them inside your gratitude journal. You do not need to cover all 26 letters, just picking a couple of letters at random and see what will come to your mind, is enough to bring some positive thinking into your life.
I truly hope it helps you, every time, you need a little inspiration.
No matter the time of the year, I can only recommend to spend a lot of your time outside. Mother Nature is so powerful and can not only impact your mood but also your health...
As you might have read over the past 2 weeks, I have made the most of my holiday and have rediscovered myself...
For me, my holidays are the perfect time to shift my focus to gratitude. Simply taking 5 minutes a day to simply review what great things have happened in the day, makes me feel so much happier and so grateful of life...
As far as I can remember, I always loved reading my horoscope. As a kid, I would read my weekly horoscope out of the TV program every week...
It is incredible, following my previous post on re-learning to chill and relax during your holiday, suddenly; I realized how beneficial it is to me, to simply do nothing...
For the next two weeks, I will be on my summer holiday, and I must admit, this year, even more than before, I am so looking forward to our holiday...
Chit-chat room, what is it all about?
I have created this page so we can have regular chit-chats about those little things that will bring positivity into our daily life. Sometime just a little funny post, a fun video, a song or a quote, will bring sunshine into our day, will bring a smile onto our face, or will simply make us feel good. Hope you enjoy reading these posts.
